    My Green Arrows Are Here!

OMG I cannot BELIEVE it. I just answered the door to find a UPS guy on a bicycle (!) delivering a box filled with...

    THREE (3) MOC Retro-Action DC Super-Heroes™

I am stunned these arrived in time for Christmas. Look at me: I'm beaming like a little kid on Christmas Eve. Because I am one!

I was so excited, I came online to post the exciting news. Man, I love living in California; I just got notice of Shipment this morning... to have them arrive before noon is just staggering.

I haven't oogled them completely, but I will say they look AMAZING. The first card I removed from the white box is slight curved (not bent, but warped), adding to the "old" or "vintage" feel of the piece.

I am super excited to report that the packaging looks pretty wonderful. I was an early hater of what they are doing, but I must say: THEY ROCK.

My fiance even said, "Wow, these look old!" To that, I will say Mattel was successful. Sure, hard-core Megoheads, esp. packaging collectors, the weathered and aged cards are a stretch (they didn't even get the mis-registration aesthetic accurate). But to the untrained eye, they are a complete success.

More after I crack this bad boy open! Woot!

OK, my first one is OFF THE CARD and butt naked. I love everything about it, except for the thighs; they rotate oddly (toes inward), exactly as the prototypes we've seen. Other than that, this thing is amazing.

Hang on, I'll go take some pics!

                  one day delivery?? Wow
                  I am floored.

                  awesome in the xmas department.

EDIT: Had to go check my tracking. No miracles out here. Delivery should be on Dec 30th, just in time for the year of the 8" cloth toy revolution.

Mine arrived too, though only one of the two arrived. Interesting that they ship them individually.

Still, great surprise to have one before xmas.

I can't wait! Can you take pics of the shipping box it came in, so we can see how they are packing them?

                          Pix!

OK, so here's how they arrived: All three packed into one exterior brown shipping box:

Here's the first one ripped open and undressed. Notice the legs point inward.

As you can see below, the Boxing Glove Arrow feels upside down; presumably the archer would thread the arrow in the upper third of the bow (or at least the middle), yet the Glove has its thumb pointed at the ground:

A MINOR disappointment, to be sure... and one that is made up for by the -- holy Mego continuation -- use of a plastic snap! This is exactly what Mego was doing as the line was discontinued in 1982:

Sorry for the blurry photo, but I'm just sooo excited.

Great job on this figure. Man, I wish I could get the entire first wave right now. I would totally get on the floor and stage a massive battle.
