Scott (ditcin) actually worked on the Anchor Bay version and it's pretty great.

I don't know why I said five years ago, I guess it feels like five years.

  2. I bought my copy of the DVD at Wal-Mart last year for around $10.00. It should be pretty easy to find online.

The Disney release is far better than the Anchor Bay one.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Better picture quality and true anamorphic widescreen. The Disney addition also contains the full Theater Overture, plus the extended trailer and a special effects featurette (short, but really good).

    It's a widescreen aspect ratio.

Here's an example using the movie Labyrinth.

Not exactly. Here's a explanation on the various widescreen aspect ratios.

widescreen.org - The Letterbox and Widescreen Advocacy Page

The Anchor Bay release was in pan and scan and widescreen. But the widescreen included wasn't in the correct 2.35: 1 anamorphic widescreen ratio of the Disney version.
