Thread: Saw Styx and REO last night!

Saw Styx and REO last night!

My wife and I saw Styx and REO Speedwagon last nite at the Pikeville Expo Center. It was awesome! The opening act was Bo Bice "yawn".

When I said "Styx" I should have said, "Tommy Shaw, JY, and three other dudes". Though the other dudes are very, very good, the absence of Dennis DeYoung and the Panozzo brothers made Styx seem more like a new band.

In the world of rock musicians, Tommy Shaw is about as close to the genuine article than you can get.

REO was really good, too. Kevin Cronin's voice was a bit thin and he has lost some of his range. But he was still very high energy and worked very hard.

    Great time!

Saw them Fri night and it was a lot of fun! No Bo Bice but Night Ranger opened for them.

I would like to see both of them, particularly REO speedwagon. I wonder where their name came from.

Interesting. Never made that connection before. Pretty cool.

Did you hear that from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from another?

Both were at Hersheypark arena last year with Journey - 3 of my favorite 80's bands - and I couldn't make it as I was out of town at the time! Just my luck. Add Night Ranger to that list of fav 80's bands.
