That was a very cool set but the apes were made out of a brittle plastic that chipped and broke easily. It's almost impossible to find any of the figures loose today that don't have paint chips or broken pieces.

I have this set and several of the others with fewer figures and accessories. Cornelius is the hard figure to get. Notice he's not even available in the big set.
The apes are made out of hard plastic that breaks easily, but it's pretty easy to find perfect condition ones in the smaller boxed sets. The paint is almost impossible to remove, which is a shame, since the sculpts are surprisingly good. I've always wanted an accurately painted set.
The suspended bridge is a nightmare. It's delicate and fragile and impossible to repair once broken.
Very cool set.Would have loved to have this as a kid
Looking for Rm Robin,Loose Remco Phantom. mailer boxed figures, falcon Ledy,
if i had this a kid it would have gotten plenty of use.. its a cool playset .
I must have had the small set as a kid, because I found one of those trees and the bridge in the box with my megos. I was wondering what it was from.
cool now I know! wonder if I kept them.... hmmmm
Count me in as someone who would have loved a set like this as a kid. I had never even heard of or seen these before until I stumbled across one on ebay several years ago. It's always cool "discovering" a vintage toy you didn't know about, especially one that involves characters that you like.
