Some of these I have had since I first bought them at Toy Castle in Claremont NH in the early 70's:

Allosaurus smaller box version with added Sabertooth art:

I love how they are so historically inaccurate with all those creatures having lived millions of years apart; nevermind the way they drag their tails, etc which is now generally believed to be inaccurate as well.
Still love 'em!
First thing I think of when I see these is the little hobby shop across the street from Woolworth's that I used to go to as a kid. I can still see them on the shelf there in my mind's eye.
I always wanted that cave and the cavemen kits but I never got them. :(

I was lucky enough to own almost all of the Prehistoric Scenes models as a kid, but I only have pics of one of them:
That's me, circa 1973, with my Allosaurus model and some Marx dinosaurs.

Too bad these can't be retooled with new pieces to make them more "accurate" because I think they'd sell today except for the fact that all the kids know they don't look like Jurassic Park dinosaurs. Most sales would be to people our age because of that.
I wonder if Aurora would've made all new ones if they were still in business?

AAAHHHHH!!!!!
AURORA DINOSAURS!!!!!!! ONe of the greatest things humanity has ever created! I've been trying to finish my set and get them all built; now that I have a table to set them up on.
>I think they'd sell today
They come around again every so often. Last year Revel reissued a bunch.
