Question Can't find Tire Wet for degraying process...

Did they change the product name? Discontinue it? I went to WalMart to look for it and the lady handed me something else. She didn't know if the ingredients were the same, so I was kind of afraid to try it. Does anyone know of a good alternative, or have in ingredient list so I can compare it to other products?

Del, I used "Tire Wet" by Black Magic on my Mr. Fantastic about two weeks ago, so I know they still make it (however, mine was manufactured in 2005) . I bought it at O'Reilly Auto for about $3.00. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll find a way to ship what I have left to you.

I believe most any silicone based product will work. All is does is keep the plasti-dip from adhering so tight

I found some at Target. It looks like my Walmart just got the other stuff in, which was made by Turtlewax. I didn't want to risk trying something different the first time I do this...

I found that the method works well, but doesn't last too long. My CHiPS Jon head is already gray again. *shrug*

    Good luck, del!

Here is my experience with De-Greying:

    1) Do it outside...the fumes from the plasti are definitely not worth almost killing yourself if you do it inside.

    2) The drier the better. Humidity messes with the process in my opinion.

Here is one of the many I've done in the past:

"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them
    Isn't it a pity".
