My local theater used to play older movies as the summer saturday/sunday matinee and my mom used to send me/let me go to the movies a lot during the summer and I remember one of the films being Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine. I also remember going to see the original Planet of the Apes during one of those matinees and there were never more than 10 people in the theater. I have no idea how they made any money showing these old films. Admission was like 60 cents. I used to get a popcorn and candy and an admission ticket and spend less than $1.25. Maybe the parents paid the theater owner off to be a babysitter? LOL
