Name rings a bell. Other than that,I'm drawing a blank.
I had one. As an action figure, he wasn't much fun, but I used him as a reference model when I started sculpting arms and faces. They had a very stylized look that was almost Art Deco.
i still have mine from kidhood. great toys.
Only had one as a kid and had a blast with it but then I always lovd playing with army men and such. I've got 2 now.
As a kid I had a set that came with several figures, a jeep, and a helicopter. I also had a few loose figures. The ones I really liked were the SWAT figures they came out with later. They were the same figures molded in blue instead of green but the accessories were better.

I had and still have a few of them.
3 things that always stand out. Mortar man never could hold the darn things so they got lost quick, Some of them never fit on their bases properly and most important of all. If you remove their headgear, their heads look like Virginias..if you know what I mean.
I just got the 1976 Mattel catalog with a few pages of these guys, I plan to put it on my site shortly.
Rack Toys: Cheap, Crazed Playthings book now available!
Oh yeah! My brother loved them. I even had them a few times. I prefered the blue SWAT ones as opposed to my brother's army green ones. They were all cool though. My favorite was the flamethrower guy. Thanks for the memories!
