Vintage Captain Action guys, I need your HELP!!!

I have been looking online for good photos of what comes in each Captain Action set...just for research and curiosity, I'm not going to start collecting them. But although I've found a couple of places that give photos of the different sets, I can't find good photos of each piece from the set. Some of the sets are easier to find pictured than others. Anyway, here are my questions for the Captain Action guys out there:

1. Is there a good site for photos of the individual pieces from each set?

2. Which sets are easy to find (cheap) and which ones are hard to find (and thus, more expensive)?

3. If someone were to pick up individual pieces and put the sets together, would that be more cost effective or are the little extra pieces a nightmare to find?

I'm not going to start collecting Captain Action. He's awesome, but I'm just not going to do it. The series is just too hard to find and too expensive. Maybe I'll just get one Captain Action figure, but that's it. And the Batman outfit, but only because Batman is so awesome and it seems like that's the easiest one to find. Well, then I'd need to get an Action Boy and the Robin outfit, but there's where it ends. No more. Just those two. And a Dr. Evil, because they need an enemy. Period. No more. Except for the...

Toys You Had Presents Captain Action

not the most clear, but the easiest reference I found while looking a while back.

Yep, Toys you had has a nice pictorial of the figure in costume and with the doodads. Not individual shots or anything, but it is pretty good for seeing what came with who.

Batman is pretty easy to find the basic costume for, it is the fiddly bits that will get you.
Robin (and the other Action boy outfits) are a bit more pricey and tough to find. Especially all the gadgets that R had. i.e. suction cups, bat shooter, batarangs, amongst others. The CA was a really creative line with lots of features and accessories.

The last sets of costumes from 1967 are the toughest to find. Spiderman typically tops the bill as there are plenty of crossover collectors that want that piece. He also has a s'load of gizmos, including a spider whose legs are very easily broken. Green Hornet is probably next for big $$.

Good Luck on Investing..!! C/A was what I had as a wee lad, in the late '60s. I'm STILL surprised all the delicate accessories actually weathered my childhood playing..

I had a minty Spiderman set for a few years, but finally sold 'em for an excellent price. Being a big Titans (or sidekick) fan, I still have my Robin and Aqualad sets. To me, they're the BEST, second only to my Captain America set..

Always wished they had the rings for the sidekicks as well...

Suggestion: Finding nice suits without runs/fades/stains or crumpled foil insignias will take patience and time.. Accessories are always easy, but insuring you spend the $$ for the base suit is what's most important.

Y'know.., I'm still gunning for a MIB C/A Captain America..

I only have a C9 loose set now, very minimal bleeding on the belt.., nice original star, added red gloves.., sitting on a GI Joe WWII Harley

I'd put that on my 'TOP TOYS to acquire before I leave this Planet'.. It's just one of those Holy Grails I've always daydreamed about.

luey, those pictures of the boxed sets are great too!

Is it just me or are the Sgt. Fury masks different on the two different sites? I thought it was supposed to be the gray haired one that's pictured in the box on the 'Captain Action Now' site, but the one pictured on the 'Toys You Had' site is different. I have one that has gray hair and whenever I've seen them come up on ebay, they're the gray ones. Does anyone know anything about the one pictured on the 'Toys You Had' site?

Finding nice uniforms without runs or dented foil emblems is a challenge. It can be done with patience. I should mention that a common problem with Captain Action pieces is melting. The guns chemically react with what the holsters are made of. Try to bid on guns pictured out of the holsters ect.
