Help me date this bottle of Mr Bubble!

I found this full bottle of old Mr Bubble at a church sale the other day. I know it's vintage, but I'm not sure how old. The deal is if it's 70's I'm gonna keep it cause it reminds me of being 6 years old with a bag of army men and a bathtub and fits into my focus for I am a goober and get my jollies off on 70's kidstuff. So what does our community think? A 70's bottle of Mr Bubble or 80's?.....

I only date hand lotion and baby oil myself----you're asking for trouble dating Mr. Bubble!

I think it would be more likely to be from the 80's or 90's. I don't think a 70's bottle would have the UPC barcode on it.

I would guess 90's. The offer on the label is for a Mr. Bubble digital watch for $4.95. You saw a few of these in the late 80's, but not too many. The 90's were the heyday of cheap digital watches as product premiums. No matter what the date, Mr. Bubble is always cool!

I think UPC codes were introduced in the 70s, but I'm thinking this ain't a 70s bottle anyway...

Good point, but for some reason this doesn't look like a 90s design to me, but you could be absolutely right....

I wonder if there is a way to date products by their UPC code?

UPC codes were introduced in the 70s (comics started having them on the cover in the mid-70s) but the digital watch looks 80s to me. I know some existed in the 70s, but they were BIG in the 80s. Lots of mail-ins for them too.

the design is too "modern". I'd guess the 90's.

Did you know they filed for bankruptcy last year? Their bubble burst too!

I'm guesing 80s. Anyone know when they changed from a box to the plastic bottle? I know I had a digital watch back in 1979 so I wouldn't count that picture out.

Back in the mid 70's I had a few LED watches, but didn't see LCD's until the late 70's.

The label looks like a 90s + design to me.

This ad is from the 70s - it's not the easiest thing to see, but at the end of the ad you can see some differences on the plastic bottle label:

I would guess exactly 1987 judging by the inked date stamp under the back label. It's still over 20 years old.
