As we speak, my long time friend Paul "Dr. Mego" Clarke is at the Mattel panel at Comic Con, where it has just been announced that we are bringing back the DC World's Greatest Superheroes in partnership with Mattel. Wave One, out before easter 2010 will include:

Green Arrow
Hal Jordan GL
Superman
Lex Luthor
Sinestro

I'll go on later about behind the scenes stuff we've been quiet about, but I wanted you guys to be the first to hear the announcement as it was going on.

what differences... if any are there in the Mattel body and EMCE bodies?

okay, last one and it's a big one.

torso is longer and bulkier in the chest. slimmer waist, lower pelvis. more in line with current approaches to superhero toys but close enough to mego that it doesn't look weird. i guess if a doc mego body and an abercrombie&fitch model got their molecules stuck in a transporter...

oh, and on the star trek tip, during the whole process they kept sendinus these body prototypes that they got off their "3-d printers" from CAD files done in Hong Kong. total replicator stuff...

on that note, i'm logging off. thank you all for your attention, thanx for letting me hog the mic. please pray that these sell and that they sell enought to keep em going for a few years. just before the announcement i got my copy of business week and the cover story was "rethinking the boomer economy: what to do when the world's spendiest generation stops spending". almost crapped my pants.

I wonder if long term, if Mattycollector.com is a true safety net for us?? Given the fact that the MOTUC line (which is NOT in stores) is selling out online, I hope that this line can be extended for a LONG time (both in brick/mortar stores first and then ultimately move exclusively to online if/when it is forced to do so). Between the retail and online options, there's a great chance to keep offering these new WGSH for a long time to come!

ok - i just skim read 14 pages in 2 minutes - maybe i missed the answer -ARE THES EXACTLY THE SAME HEIGHT AS A MEGO?

i am already trynig to decide whether to sell of my custom GL and Lex to replace with these. (i don't have a sinestro)

Yes. 8". I doubt they would go through all this trouble for something less than a true Mego height. No famous covers stuff this time.

Its funny, but much like DC in the seventies, we now have a Earth 1 Superman and soon an Earth 2 (or vice versa if you prefer). We can have crossovers just like the old yearly JLA/JSA stories....So much potential....Weeeeeeee!
