I'll have to track it down---I like popular rock---and I like "sleazy" stuff

    Thanks for the heads up

Here are the lyrics to the other song I mentioned, "You Oughta Know". This chick was pretty mad when she wrote this, but it is a great song and came off one of the top selling albums of all times, "Jagged Little Pill" (maybe all time top selling female album):

I want you to know, that I am happy for you
I wish nothing but the best for you both
    An older version of me
    Is she perverted like me?
Would she go down on you in a theater?
    Does she speak eloquently
And would she have your baby?
I'm sure she'd make a really excellent mother

1-'Cause the love that you gave that we made
Wasn't able to make it enough for you
    To be open wide, No
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me
You'd hold me until you died
Till you died, but you're still alive

2-And I'm here, to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair, to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
    You, you, you oughta know

You seem very well, things look peaceful
I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you forget about me, Mr. Duplicity?
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap in the face
    How quickly I was replaced
And are you thinking of me when you f... her?
    (rpt 1,2)

    Ohh... aah... ahh... ahh...

'Cause the joke that you laid in the bed
That was me and I'm not gonna fade
As soon as you close your eyes, and you know it
And every time I scratch my nails
Down someone else's back I hope you feel it
    Well, can you feel it?
    (rpt 2, 2...)

I know THAT song very well...

I always thought that she musta been pretty proud
of herself for writing that---for a while---
its a nicely written song---and was very successful

    but

then I'd think she'd get uneasy singing it year in and year out because, in the
end, it comes of the opposite of what its SUPPOSED to be
"depowering" instead of "empowering" ---- as the lyrics are essentially one
big "whine" if its heard more than once that becomes more clear---to me
anyway---I mean, it has her investing all that angst in some guy she should
    just "move on" from

And I thought man, doesn't Alanis think everytime before she sings it:
"JEEZ, I gotta call this guy a total jerk AGAIN? He don't deserve my breath!"

The reality is its a big song for her---so whatever the situation, she'll do it!

And, by the way, I do see how you could correlate those lyrics
    with the NICKELBACK lyrics antique

I gotta agree with joshvox & brue- I'm not real big on today's brand of "radio rock".

About that Alanis Morrisette song- she refuses to confirm it, but rumor has it, that song is about Dave Coulier- Uncle Joey from TV's Full House. They dated long ago and he supposedly took her virginity. Apparently it was a nasty break up and all the angst in that song is directed at him.

thanks for the insight Mike----if it was Coulier the song was aimed at,
I can understand ---I mean----all those cartoon voices the guy does----that
    would freak me too

Anyways ANTIQUE I heard my "first" NICKELBACK song yesterday
---in actuality it probably was far from my first, but
it was the first time I knew it was NICKELBACK performing
the song---it was a song about BEING A ROCK STAR

I thought it was witty and rocking as all heck----good on them!

Hope your 7th anniversary-day was great ZEMO
