Wasn't Catrall like 50 years old when she was Valaris ?

She did not give me the impression she was young (like she was suppose to be)

I'm going to go with Alley, but I did like Curtis' take as well.

As far as Catrall, she's not my favorite Vulcan, and I could believe that she was half Romulan.

I prefered the young trim Kristie Alley , But both had their good and bads.

I preferred Alley as well. She was hot back then. it's a shame she let herself go.

I actually liked Robin Curtis better as Saavik.

Her take on the character seemed to be more approachable than Alley's.

I am not saying that she was bad at the portrayal, she just didn't have the same charisma that Robin did.

That's the exact way I feel as well.Nicely stated.

Also I'm sorry but Curtis is just way better looking as well.

Robin Curtis. Much better actress and more exotic or you could say Vulcan looking. I found Alley very bland in the part. I honestly didn't even care for the character until Curtis took over the roll.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I read somewhere that Alley pretty much accused all the male cast of Trek II of ogling here and pawing her all the time....Supposedly the real reason Nimoy recasted the part. Not sure if thats true or not? I can see Shat or Doohan trying to throw her the ol' jolly roger, but Deforest Keeley was too much of a gentleman, and Takei..well we all know why he wouldnt.
                      Who knows?

I think that was just wishful thinking on Alley's part.

On the other hand, on Undiscovered Country I can imagine the opposite, with Kim Cattrall goosing the whole cast repeatedly

I heard that Kim sent a nude picture of herself to Leonard Nimoy, but she's always been a bit weird.

It's too bad that Saavik's character wasn't further developed after Search for Spock, she had real potential.

Kirstie Alley by a mile...the other one is a nobody journeyman...who cares...I don't...not one bit...

Kim Catrall was the hottest...but obviously a different character.

Are you talking about who did a better job in the role or who you wouldn't mind wakeing up next too? I think Kristie did a better job in the role but i rather wake up with Robin

The character of Saavik was written and directed differently, between II and III, too. So, I'm not sure that a comparison is that easy to make. It does bother me make-up wise that Kirstie's eyebrows are human and not in the Vulcan slant.
                                It's all good!
