You would think that's the way they should have been named, right?
Well, here's the skinny on how that went down:
The oldest, "
Jedi", was given to us as a kitten back in August of 2004 by friends who knew I was a STAR WARS nut. They presented him to us already named Jedi.
Then, a few months later, during a New York blizzard, the little grey kitty (as a recently born kitten) was screaming under our window about the crappy weather. So we took him in and named him "
Wampa" like the Empire snow beast.
But in the summer of 2007, Wampa ran away from home and disappeared somewhere in our neighborhood (long story). Jedi was left without his little buddy and got depressed. Wifey and I were devastated.
We went to the shelter and got Jedi a new little "girlfriend" companion. She was all white and we thought that "Leia" might be a good name (in keeping with the STAR WARS theme). But in the end, we decided on the less obvious "
Oola" (Jabba's slave dancing girl).
Three months after she was all settled in with us, silly Wampa found his way back home, scratched on our window, and we welcomed him back into the fold.
Now I spend my days, nights, and weekends cleaning tumbleweeds of hairballs from around my home, and cleaning the litterboxes of three goofy cats
