The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has historically been the kick-off of the
Christmas shopping season - before they moved the Christmas season to
Halloween!

Here in New York - and Mego was a New York company - the Macy's parade
is a huge deal with thousands of people lining Broadway and Central Park West
in all kinds of weather to experience the parade in person.

I have seen it in person twice - once was the year the Spider-Man balloon debuted.
Even a jaded company executive would jump at the chance to ride the float and
wave to the crowds. Based on what Ken is wearing - I suspect that it was not
a terribly cold day.
