cool story. makes me think about the same thing when i get a vintage toy. who owned it and did they enjoy playing with it? did there mom throw it out? took it to a salvation army, good will? did someone salvage it? makes me wonder.

I think the same way everytime I find and old toy, I wish I had a power to learn their history, where did they came from, how were they play with......

I get this feeling alot with my collection of British Annuals, people seemed compelled to write the name of the child and the date they received them.

Thanks to some thieves three doors down, almost every childhood figure I own has a "B" on one foot and an "H" on the other.

Great story Doc, and I agree. Now I did remove some crayon scribbles from my Mego Hall of Justice, but if it was a name, I don't know if I would have.

My mother never threw out anything, and I've sold very little of my childhood toys, so I don't have to worry about where they are. But I hope Michael comes around one day!

This is one of the main reasons I prefer getting used stuff as opposed to new. I've said this before, and maybe it's b/c I'm a sentimental female, but one of the saddest things to me is an unplayed w/ toy. I always wonder about the children who owned the toys I buy and what memories are attached to them. When I buy a used toy, I just figure I'm adding on to the memories.

I feel the same way with the Type 1 Superman and Shazam I've got with one thumb missing on each figure. I sit and wonder sometimes if they each lost their thumb in a huge epic battle that some child had them in.
