    Do You Collect Barbies?

I never thought I'd ever collect Barbie and Barbie style Fashion Dolls, but the allure of the female Superheroes is too much and I started buying Barbie when she became Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Elektra, and other superheroes (Ken as Superman).

I guess I should count the 12" scale Linda Carter Wonder Woman fashion doll as well since she doesn't really fit in with my other 12" Mego Superheroes.

Even the high end Tonner Dolls are intriguing since they started making Superhero versions.

Before GI Joe was GI Joe my sister convinced my mother to buy me a Ken for Christmas. For the next 3 years until GI Joe came out I would get Ken items for Christmas and birthdays.

Funny, my sister held onto them and only let me play with them when she had her Barbies out. That's okay, because I preferred my plastic toy solders. When she finally made to give her Barbies away (she later regretted it) I scooped my Ken out. She gave away the outfits, but I've since bought replacements.

My gf is into the whole Barbie scene. The Bob Mackey's are among some of her favorites of her collection. I have bought her a lot of Barbies that make up her collection today. I do like some of the super hero Barbies as they are pretty cool.

Only the comic or "pop culture" ones.... I've got about 14

My daughters have 100s...just packed them away this year. They're officially "over it".

Yeah, The prices use to be up pretty good on them. Some of them are still doing well price wise. It really depends on the doll and the collector's desire I suppose. I am glad to know that I am not the only one out there dropping a little change on Barbies.
