HOLY CRAP!
Are those cut with a laser? I know a guy that has a trophy/sign business and uses a laser to etch metal and glass plates, but he's also used it to help his kids with stuff like pinewood derby cars. He's used the laser to form and cut the block. Impressive stuff. When I saw the flat pieces the laser was the first thing that popped into my mind.

Thanks for all the nice replies. I showed my wife and she was impressed by all the love.
I'm actually not a new member, but I don't post much. It was just my first finished custom post.
As for fat fingers, I had to use tweezers to set up the pictures! I think after I've played with the set for a few weeks I'll end up gluing down the pieces so they stay put.
The pieces are made out of 1/8 inch plastic acrylic sheets cut with a laser cutter. I use some free software called Inkscape to do the design.
I'd be happy to make some to sell if people are interested. It will be $12 for a regular set (chess board + 32 chess pieces) or $22 for the 3-D Trek set (3-D board + 32 chess pieces). Plus $6 for shipping in the US. PM me for details or if you have any questions.
I'm working on some more mego-size stuff that I hope to share soon.Comment

Can you post another pic showing if the extra platforms are on levels 1 and 3 only? It looks like you have a platform on level 2.
