Justice League of America by George Perez

After a 9 year wait the waiting is almost over!

DC Comics Classics Library: Justice League of America by George Perez
    Written by Gerry Conway
Art by George Pérez with Frank McLaughlin and John Beatty
    Cover by George Pérez

The first half of artist George Pérez's 1980s run on JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA is collected in this new hardcover featuring issues #184-186, 192-194 plus Pérez's very rare JLA postcard set! Don't miss the team's battles with Darkseid and The Secret Society of Super-Villains, as envisioned by the artist of FINAL CRISIS: LEGION OF THREE WORLDS! 176 pages. Color Hardcover. $39.99. On Sale August 19th.

I note that the solicitation states that the Secret Society of Super-Villains is featured but those issues were JLA #195-197, weren't they? Also at DCComics.com the JLA cover that is being used to solicit this volume is JLA #197. Oy.

Yeah something's wrong witht that solicitation.....#184-186 encompasses the New Gods/JSA cross-over I believe and #192-194 is Red Tornado's origin and an Amos Fortune story.

Sounds cool, but doesn't that price seem a little steep for a six issue hardback?

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

That price is big time steep for a 6 issue hardback,.. from what I saw at Borders today...

6 issues and his rare JLA postcard set. That makes all the difference.

I loved those SSoSV issues when I was a kid.

Vintage Focus on George Perez trade paperback just arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm really digging it.

If memory serves though Perez had some help (Keith Pollard) on those SSoSV issues......

Yeah Pollard did some penciling on the last chapter of that SSoSV story.

It's amazing to me how good George Perez has been for so long. Over three decades and he's still drawing as strongly as he's ever been.

It has always amazed me that he hasn't done a good long stint on the JLA. I know that was originally his ambition going over to DC before he got convinced and swept up with New Teen Titans.

I've been looking through his Logan's Run from the seventies.

Spotted his Thunder Agents this weekend, but forgot to pick it up.

That postcard set is killer. I still have them. I got the Batman one that they only gave out at a convention on ebay a couple of years ago to complete the set.
