Finally got around to watching it. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but a decidedly unique twist on the vampire movie nonetheless.

It was kind of as if Todd Solondz (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Happiness) made a vampire film is the best way I can describe it. There was a certain gut wrenching mundane and painful realism that surrounds and almost overwhelms the more supernatural aspects, which makes it that much more shocking when the trappings of the vampire mythos imposes itself into the story. It actually made for a satisfying ending after everything else that happens to these two kids.

        Loved it - great stuff!

Awesome atmosphere and absolutely outstanding casting. I can't imagine that the U.S. version will work the same way at all.
