    I find Steve Carell annoying most of the time but I'm interested in Anne Hathaway's take on 99...

      There is NO way they're gonna pull this off w/o Don Adams (RIP). They're gonna miss it by "that much".

        The director, Peter Segal, is also set to direct Shazam! This is one reason why the Rock's name keeps coming up in relation to Captian Marvel.

          So;

          Keeping with the tradition of missing the point entirely, do you think this one will end up as a serious action flick?

            It will have action with bad punch lines probably. I agree that Anne Hathaway is not a bad choice for Agent 99 tho.

              Saw the preview during Potter and the one scene I did see was pretty funny. I was a huge Get Smart fan as a kid and simply thought the show was hilarious. The scene in the previews shows Smart facing off with the villain. He grabs the handset off the telephone and throws it at him. It stretches just far enough to miss the villain entirely and recoils right back at himself. I could almost picture Don Adams face on Carrell's body. I'll definately go see it so I hope it's good.
              It's not a doll it's an action figure.

                Is Mel Brooks involved in any way to this? If not,I'll definitely skip this.

                  I could not imagine anyone but Don Adams playing Max before I watched a few scenes from the movie. While I am not a big fan of Steve Carell, he does seem to be a good choice.

                    It's going to suck

                    Austin Powers was THE ULTIMATE spy spoof....

                    After Austin, anyone with any brains should leave the genre alone.

                      Jim Carrey would be great in this role.

                          I loved Get Smart! and I loved Don Adams as Max, but I'm not as repulsed by the idea of someone else playing him (ala Steve Martin in Pink Panther, which wasn't bad, but it wasn't Peter Sellers).

                          The show was a classic spoof in itself, and there is definitely room to update it in my book. Carrell is a great choice. He proved he had the naive guy down pat in 40 Year Old Virgin.

                            Carrell is a good choice for the part, but aren't TV adaptations dead yet? I can't remember the last good one.
