Anyone else into Original Comic Art???

I know that Clemso was into Original Comic Art....He had an AMAZING!!! Pre-lim or Layout of Giant Size X-Men a while back. If I remember correctly, Nightcrawlers outfit was slightly different in the pre-lim than the final cover...either way it was simply one of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen. (Gil Kane). Any others into original comic art??? Here's my most recent pickup...for the price, I couldn't let it go:

GIL KANE original pen & ink pencil CONAN Marvel sketch - eBay (item 220371025344 end time Mar-08-09 21:42:41 PDT)

I know it's not what ultimately ended up being used as the cover...but it was the original layout for it. The Pre-Lim is definitely Gil Kane...but the final cover is John Buscema with possible Joe Sinnott inks. Gonna frame this when I get a chance. Just picked up a VF copy of the comic. I have a few pages from the Spectre 3rd series (Ostrander/Mandrake) by John Ridgeway and some America Vs. The Justice Society pages as well as some All-Star Squadron Pages. The one piece I have that I really can't display is a pencil pre-lim for the Marvel Saga series by Ron Frenz. Just penciled art can't really be displayed because the UV light....be it natural or by light bulbs will fade pencils over time. It's a shame, because it's an amazing piece. Soon as I figure out how to watrermark my scans I'll post them.

BTW Clemso, whatever happened to the Gil Kane Pre-lim for X-Men Giant Size 1???

I have 2 original cells from the Marvel Cartoon series from the 60's. One is a Lady Dorma Cell and the other is a Metal Master Cell with Thunderbolt Ross and the army behind him...from the Hulk 60's cartoon series. Absolutely love them.

Is that Shazam and Mary Marvel sketch from Paul Ryan? I have to say, it comes close to looking a lot like Jerry Ordway. Very nice. Jerry is one of the only artists that I want to meet but haven't yet...and I used to go to a lot of shows when I was younger. The old Creation shows here in NY were the best.

Would love to collect original art, but can barely afford the figures and comics I collect now. I liked the DC oversized comics from Alex Ross a few years ago due to the size of them. Probably as a close to original art I am going to get. I do have a pencil sketch from an artist I met at the Chicago con back in '93 of the Golden Age Sandman and Dr Fate that I love. I never heard from the artist again, so I don't believe he got any work with the major companies.

I love the artwork but have too many other collections going on right now.

I do collect quite a bit of Bill Melendez's Peanuts artwork from the Peanuts specials.

Getting into Original Art would be hard on the wallet!

I just bought my first original pieces... a John Constantine Hellblazer Sketch and a Swamp thing for my brother. Very excited.
