Sometimes that's what makes them so appealing.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

As for who would want these and about them being unappealing ....

The same can be said for Mego's Comic Action Hero's

I personally think CAH's are about the ugliest things i've ever seen and wouldn't want them if you paid me to take them.

That doesn't mean nobody else wants and collect them

A couple of reasons I think they're appealing to collectors .....

    1. They were distributed heavily in the Mid-West and South because that was mostly AWA/NWA etc territoy.
They were released in the North, but very modestly -- and they were mostly peg-warmers due to the North being WWF territory.
Most Northern people considered them to be generic knock-off figures.

    2. Because Remco made them, they were on a fine line between being a true legit action figure and a rack-toy action figure found at discount places.

This made them unique and is why they're so collectible today.

This is an incredible deal, i have never even seen a sheik figure before. This would be like getting a large s superman, circle suit spidey, and removable mask robin in the same auction for 500 bucks.

Dinosaur turds are probably rare to but that doesn't mean I want to pay big bucks to own one.
