Spock uses the ships scanners to analyse the Tholians web filaments
He figures out that if the Tholians complete their web, the Enterprise and her crew will never make it back home. Uhura tries to tell McCoy that she saw Kirk's "ghost" but is not successful in convincing him she saw the Captain. Doctor McCoy then discovers an antidote for the phasing effect by using a diluted form of the Klingon nerve agent, Theragen.
McCoy goes to the bridge to administer the antidote and after inoculating the bridge crew he is about to leave when Mr. Scott looks up and suddenly calls out from his station
"Look, it's Capatain Kirk!"
Dr. McCoy looks up in shock
"Mr. Spock, it's the Captain!"
Mr. Spock walks over to where the "ghost" image of Captain Kirk seems to be floating on the bridge
Mr. Spock calls out, "Captain" and reaches up as if to try and touch him
Suddenly the Captain vanishes
Spock lowers his hand and looks over to his ship mates as they all take in what they just witnessed
Will the Enterprise escape before the Tholians are able to finish their web?
