I'm not sure that's necessarily true....No one knew who Christopher Reeve was back in '78 and he nailed the part of Superman. If the actors are good, as well as the script and effects, I'm not sure you need a name like The Rock.
Plus I'm not so sure that The Rock's name* means big box office.

(*When's he gonna start going by just Dwayne Johnson, BTW )

I know, looks aren't everything. I haven't seen this guy in any show or film I can recall. Still how about casting with the premise that the actor should look like the part?

So far we avoided Nicholas Cage as Superman. I think he Rock would be a good Black Adam but not as Shazam/Captain Marvel-it's a stretch. He's too buff and doesn't look like him. He has some acting chops but can he convey the Shazam.Billy Batson persona? Coincidentally I think The Rock could make a cool Namor/Sub-Mariner.

Maybe if the budget were low, the supporting cast good, the story above average, the director someone who knows how to treat the material, and the lead actor talented it would all come together. Blade and The Matrix came outta nowhere to be big hits. They have very little Superhero look to them but they are essentially Superhero pics. It takes many elements to make a film suceed.

That guy looks nothing like the Wizard. He would make a fine Captain Marvel, though.
