Movies I've Finally Seen
Saw a couple of flicks that've been mentioned here and noticed a few things:
-Superman Returns. I didn't watch all of it. (It was giving me a nosebleed....) What I found weird was that there was pretty much NO flow to the film. It was a bunch of scenes that seemed to play out almost randomly. No thru-line, no pacing... just stuff happening. (Like a bad RPG.) And each scene was constructed for maximum spectacle.
-Ghost Rider. An odd one.... I didn't think it was a BAD film, but it definitely wasn't a good one. It was competently done; but completely by the book. Give the hero a weird quirk (with no reason as to WHY) and a nebbish sidekick, and a love interest.... and then the lead singer from Good Charlotte shows up and they fight.... It's funny how they always go back to the original versions of these things when they do the movies. You'd think they would have considered the 80's version (OR 90's...) more relevant.
