What are the hot toys this Christmas?

I'm trying to figure out what Santa is going to bring this year, my daughter wants everything she sees on TV (she's 3) but my son seems to want the Marvel Superheroes transformers (which I don't really get).

What are your kids asking for this Christmas?

I'm really, really trying to steer the kids away from video games for as long as I can. It's inevitible and I'm aware of that but for now.

My wife isn't helping with her PS3.

I do try & Mix it up for the Boy. I really will only Buy Him 2to3 Games for His Xbox 360 ,.. & a Nintendo Ds Game. I throw in StarWars, Marvel Legends & some of those New DC Universe figures.... He only ever asks for Video games,.. However once he gets some action figures, he loves them & Plays with them,.. or rather WE play with them.

Andrew hasn't asked for one big thing this year, which surprises me. We've got a Wii, and were thinking about getting him a Nintendo DS, but we decided against it. We can control when he plays the Wii more. The very nature of a handheld system is to play it all the time. He's only 7. I think I'll give his brain a little more time to develop before he starts killing its cells.

He really loves the Star Wars Galactic Heroes figures. We've got him two gift sets of those, and 3 Marvel ones of the same type (The Super Hero Squad). He wanted the 6" Movie Masters Batman and Joker from The Dark Knight, and we were able to get that nice gift set from TRU for him.

Dani is getting a kitchen set that grows from infant to 5 years old height. And Elmo Live. I guess that's the BIG pre-school toy this year.

EMCE Star Trek figures. My son Connor, who is 7, just discovered Star Trek and is constantly asking to play with my vintage collection. I got him the whole first set. He also really wants the Indiana Jones Temple of Akator playset so I got that too.

My little one, Mara Jade, who is 4, wants just about every toy she sees. She really wants an Ahsoka figure from the Clone Wars though.

My oldest Morgan, who is 9, is starting to get to the point where she wants money or gift cards, but she did ask for a lot of these Club Penguin toys.

My youngest one is now 8 and he seems to be disinterested in toys.

My soon to be 14 year old wants a laptop....not asking for much eh? Fortunately, you can purchase a decent laptop now for under $500. He spends most of his free time trying his hand at computer graphics...all self taught. I told him he practically works as hard at it as someone who would get paid. I think he would like to do something along this line as a profession so we will probably go ahead and splurge on it. At the very least, it will free the one computer up that our family now shared.

11 year old daughter probably will want clothing. Aeropostale and Hollister seem to be her stores of choice.

The 8 year old wants an iPod but I am thinking he is just copycatting his siblings. He doesn't even listen to music. We are still trying to figure out what to get him.

They are now past the ages of Tickle me Elmos or whatever is the rage of the year so no longer do I have to stand in lines and getting into fist fights with other customers over the limited supplies of Wii's coming out.
