Plastic Man maybe coming to DVD

For those of you who liked the classic Plastic Man series by Ruby Spears, there was an announcement made a few days ago on TVShowsOnDVD.com that WB is working on bringing the classic 1979 PlasticMan series to DVD for next year. Though WB has made no formal announcement yet, it's nice to know it's in the works.
I recall this series originally being called the Plastic Man Comedy Adventure Show in 1979 following the World's Greatest SuperFriends on ABC and there were several other cartoons in this series with Plas.
I did not care for Baby Plas in the second season in 1980, but I would not mind having those episodes for completion.
Anyway, it's nice to know that PlasticMan may be coming to DVD next year.
    Cheers.

That would be awesome. I have yet to find a watchable boot of this series, and I always liked the feel of it. I think my kids would get a kick out of it.

I have the VHS release of the series from the 80's, my kids love it. Nobody liked Baby Plas, ever.

BabyPlas is the Scrappy-Doo of the Super Hero set.

I remember really liking this show (the first season, anyway) but I haven't seen it since it originally aired. My son will get a kick out of it I'm sure.

Wasn't there a segment on the show with a tiny super hero and an ugly dog who hid his face with a small doghouse?

Mighty Man and Yuck got it's own VHS release and I was OK with that.

The Plastic Man cartoon still works, it has a lot of whimsy but suffers from that insanely overpowering Ruby Spears music. I also really liked "Goldie Gold and Action Jack".

Was Fangface on Plas too, or did he have a separate show?

I remember reading Plastic Man stories in Super Friends and Adventure Comics at the time and wondering where Hula-Hula and Penny were. And Woozy Winks annoyed the crap out of me because he wasn't Hula.

Hopefully if this makes it out, maybe Ruby-Spears excellent 88 Superman series will come soon after.

Fangface had his own show. And then on it's second season they added their version of Baby Pla: FangPuss. I kid you not.

I'll buy Plasticman on DVD. And I agree; no one ever liked Baby Plas.

The Ruby-Spears 88 Superman show was above average that's for sure. Really good show. I taped almost every episode back with the first run in 88. I don't believe it's ever been re-run. Even on the cartoon network.

Big fan of "Action Jack and Goldie Gold" too. High adventure on Saturday mornings. It was just fine show period. Wish it was on DVD too. Great show.

You're the only person I know who remembers it, if I didn't own a copy of the VHS I'd swore the whole thing was my imagination.

Thanks for clearing it up about Fangace. I saw one Fangface short and one Action Jack and Goldie Gold on Boomerang in the last few years. I recalled Fangface, but had totally forgotten Action Jack. I do remember Fangpuss...yeesh!

The 88 Superman show has a fine comic pedigree. Marv Wolfman was story editor and wrote much of the show, and Gil Kane did character designs. It's a great mix of elements from the Reeve movies, classic Superman, and the then-new Byrne revamp.
