Sad Trek list and Astronaut on Ebay

Well it didn`t take long did it?

There will be a fair few of us who haven`t even got these but yet they are already on Ebay. How have they been distributed so far? Megomeet and the forums or wider at fairs etc?

Primarily at Megomeet and through members here. I haven't sent any out otherwise which is bothersome.

What members live in Frederick, MD or the surrounding area? Can't be too many. Has anyone been issuing these with orders from their online stores? Could they have gotten them from a purchase? Are they members that are just signing up to get the cards? We need "Mego CSI" to solve this case!!!
    GFY!!!

I'll tell you what happened. He was one of the people that emailed after I posted that auction on Ebay to say that cards were free. 3 people got in touch asking about it and I sent them cards. And now he's selling what I sent him.

That's. Outrageous. Wow. People SUCK. I'm speechless.

His response to my auction that cards are free.

    Hello,
I have visited your site numerous times, but there is nowhere that I can see to obtain these cards (other than purchasing them from other people). I do toy shows here in my area (past 15 years) and would be happy to pass these out so others can enjoy them. If nothing else I would appreciate a set for myself. If your willing I'll be happy to pay shipping/handling & delivery confirmation. I await your response and appreciate your time.
    Thankx!

I had him send me $5 for shipping and I sent a nice friendly stack of cards.

Who is the bigger tool in this story? I am so angry I can't see straight.

I didn't even think to look through his history and see the numerous MM card auctions. I am stupid and trusting.

It just seems like a lose/lose situation at the moment. The idea of the starter packs is great and i`m happy to forward them on but until a member proves themselves as not just another fly by night newbie it really is a gamble whether or not what you send will end up on Ebay.

Scott, I feel for you having your trust abused like that.

I make this promise to the board: Not only will I never sell a card, I will never buy one, either. (Even if that means I end up with an incomplete collection).

The whole point of these cards (and what makes them special) is that through giving/receiving/trading we get to experience what makes this a great community. To buy or sell a card takes away from the intent and, quite frankly, makes that card worthless.

It's not that these cards are rare or beautiful that make them special to me, it's the gesture of friendship extended by people I've never met who took the time to "hook me up". That gesture has been repeated several times over by a good number of members here who sent me cards when I had nothing to give back. Once I gained a few extras (again through kind gestures), I couldn't wait to do some trading or just send them on to someone who needed what I had. That's the fun of it that gets lost in a buy/sell type of economy.

I don't know if I need an attitude adjustment or what. I hate making a big deal out of it everytime it comes up, I hate feeling upset about something I can't control, something I shouldn't even be surprised about.

I think as long as none of us stopp to selling them it's ok. It turns my stomach to think of people making money out of something free. Unfortunately it happens all the time.
