    Were there knock-off RRRumblers ?

    Just wondering,
Were there knock-off RRRumblers and Sizzlers back in the day ?

I remember (between me and my bud) we used to own at least 20 different kinds of RRRumblers ......
When I look for them on ebay, I only see the same few.
    Same with Sizzlers .......

If many of the ones we had were knock-offs, their quality was exactly the same as the real-deals ......
Hell, even the rubbermen riders were the same (usually moulded in different colours with different style helmets)

Anyone have any info on this ?

No knock offs I know of, I used to be seriously into these hot wheels sidelines. They are probably repopping all of these now though.

    Rrrumblers were:

    1971
3 Squealer, Torque Chop, Road King, Hightailer, Mean Machine, Rip Snorter

    1972
Roamin Candle, Revolution, Straight Away, Bold Eagle, Choppin Chariot, Devils Deuce (harder to find)

1973 (very hard to find and the coolest ones)
Bone Shaker, Rip Code, Centurion, Preying Menace

    Sizzlers:

    1970
Firebird Trans Am, Revvin Heaven, Hot Head, Ford Mark IV, Angelo M70, Mustang Boss 302

    1971
Indy Eagle, March F1, Ferrari 512S, Live Wire, Straight Scoop, Hot Wings, Sideburn, Spoil Sport, Backfire, Anteater, Cuda Trans Am, Camaro Trans Am

    1972
Double Boiler, Co Motion, Flat Out, Uproar

1973 (very hard to find and also the coolest, known as Fat Daddy Sizzlers)
Hi Way Hauler, Red Baron, Law Mill, Fireworks, Needle Nose, Ram Rocket

    Chop Cycles (Sizzlers rechargeable Rrrumblers)

    1972
Bruiser Cruiser, Speed Steed, Mighty Zork, Blown Torch

1973 (very hard to find and of coarse, the coolest)
Ghost Rider, Rage Coach, Riptile, Sourkraut, Triking Viking

Matchbox made two Sizzlers type cars I know of called Scorpions, the Tornado and the Phantom

This list could be wrong, my memory fails me sometimes.

Come to think of it. Corgi and Dinki did some motorcycles in basically the same scale, but more realistic and used to pick up cheap ones that were actual likenesses of Suzuki, Kawasaki etc. None of those would work with the Hot Wheels track stuff though.

Do these have the names on the bottom of the cars? I've always wanted to start collecting the mego Sizzlers.

Do you mean the Mego Speed Burners pullback cars ? Speed Burners Commercial

The names are usually somewhere on the underside of the plastic bodywork in very small letters.

    Thanks for the info .....

I remember one of the Rrrumblers I had .....
Actually not a Rrrumblers, but I thought it was at the time was a WW2 Fat German with long coat and helmet on a motorbike ..... -- Perfect scale to go with Rrrumblers
I remember him looking like Sgt Schultz

Also, a Hippie in purple and white --- with long blonde hair .... riding a gold motorcycle.
The motorcycle itself resembled a 70's mountain bike.

Ahhh yes, the hippie! I don't know why I forgot about Britains motorcycles. I had a few as a kid and still do. They were very cool and had a few military ones.

    Oh wow !!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yea, that's the Hippy !!!

    Thanks for the picture

The German don't look like my old one ......
Mine had a long winter coat --- and the bike MIGHT have had a side-car

The reason I don't consider any of these knockoffs of Rrrumblers, they won't work on Hot Wheels track.

    Rrrumblers Commercial
