    Diecast Heroes

Corgi was a legend in the diecast car industry, certainly because of the quality and it's licensed goods. Corgi was best known to children of the Seventies as the maker of "that batmobile" we all owned. By 1978, Corgi was grabbing every TV movie license it could and producing some of the finest diescast toy cars in the meantime. Here is a sampling of that goodness in 1978. .

Whoa, that is cool stuff. Now these are the bigger toys throughout, right? I never had any of the larger Corgi stuff, just the Juniors.

I think the Supermobile may have been designed for Corgi by DC. In an interview in Michael Eury's "Krypton Companion" book, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez was rather frank about having to use the Supermobile because of "a toy company". Interesting!!!

Great pics. Other than Batman, Bond and Starsky&Hutch not one of them makes any sense. I love the Hulk truck with Hulk in the back bed. "Hulk! Sit down until we get to the Drive-In!"
