An unusual phenomena in the boys wear section of 70's catalogs is the fight pictures where they have two boys posed as if they are about to throw down. The example above is a good one, I used to feel such things were happenstance, just two models who didn't get along but now, I'm beginning to think it's deliberate.

Check out Davey and Goliath here, is the sight of your son standing up to actor Jimmy Baio supposed to inspire ugly jacket purchases? Dammit, I need to know!

The top pic reminds me of the first time I can remember picking out my own clothes. I went velour!

My mom pretty much picked out my clothed, but at some point I decided I was old enough to make such a big boy decison.

Clearly, I was wrong.

The top one definitely feels like a scene from an old B/W movie where the lead grabs the woman and plants a kiss on her. She fights at first, but then succumbs to his manlihood. I'm just not sure who plays which role in that photo.
