    How do you de-stress?

I've recently started a new job as a "Child Care Therapist" dealing with boys between the ages of 8-18. They suffer from many different forms of mental disorders ranging from Bi-polar, Add/adhd/severe learning disorders, Cocaine/crack babies, Fetal Alcohol syndrome, conduct disorder, emotionally disturbed, sexual/physical abuse victimization etc etc etc (the list seems to never end). To put it bluntly they are "the worst of the worst" or "the best of the best....at causing ****" and the place I'm enployed is the last stop over before a life behind bars or in mental hospitals for many/most. I'm pulling a 72 hour week right now which is not unusual or even a particularly long week by some staffs measure. I've had some really stressful days already, although today was a blast and we took some of the better behaved kids to the beach, and I'm just wondering how you guys deal with stress?
drink? smoke? jog? customize mego's? videogames? ride horses? shoot stuff?

I listen to music when I feel stressed out. Also playing videogames helps reduce stress for me too. When playing a video game I can get lost in that world and forget about my current problems at least for a little while..

I work out hard as hell,i mean hit that bench super heavy,10 reps of 275lbs. or 5-7 of 315lbs really helps

If not just do as many push ups as you can in a minute and you're good to go

I work out as well, sometimes go for a run. I only drink for fun, never to unwind. I used to smoke alternative tobacco, but not anymore. Anytype of Physical activity. I also work on home improvement projects, or go out into the woods hiking. I volunteer in a nonprofit gig, which I really love. And working on Customs or playing in the forum. I try not to bring work home with me. Stress is bad, and leads to heart attacks. Best to avoid it if possible.

I made a black powder cannon at work a while back and some friends get to together and blow the heck out of stuff. It started out as just an over sized potatoe gun,but when we realized the right load for it we started shooting it at phone books, shreds them big time.the best to blow up are 5 gallon buckets of water.Major distruction there.Flash powder mixed with the load at night puts on a heck of a fire show. Now thats how I spell relief.BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exercise is great. Also, (from my theatre days) a guided imagery tape. If you find a good one (I'm not much for the new-age-y music stuff), it really can turn your mind off from thinking about work for awhile.
                        It's all good!

When I have plenty of time --- I usually take a long walk -- no shorter than 5 miles.
