The Exorcist vs The Exorcist Part 3

Just watched both and I have to admit, at least for me The Exorcist Part 3 is a superior movie.

IMO, on reflection the first movie was pretty dang unscary and was quite boring in many places.

Also, having a possessed 12 year old girl as the centre of the movie was kinda meh.

On the other hand, Brad Dourif as the demon, George C Scott as the inspector and Fabio in the dream sequence (as well as a very young Samuel L Jackson made for a thrilling wild ride.

First genuinely effect jump-scare in a movie !!!

That jump scare is a doozie.

Regan telling the astronaut "you're going to die up there" and the deleted Spider Walk are 2 of my all-time favorite creepy scenes.

The only part of 3 that I found creepy was that scene at the nurse's station.

Keep in mind that Mikey also strongly feels that Meatballs II is a superior movie to Godfather II.

I’m with Mikey on this one…big Brad Dourif fan…better rewatch value.

Exorcist is like Star Trek II…I’ve seen it too many times.
Ex III is like STIII…I can still enjoy them.
