    Celebrating 40 Years of “V” the mini-series

So, it was pointed out today that this is the 40th anniversary of the airing of “V,” a groundbreaking science fiction mini-series. First off, I adore “V” it blew my mind as a kid and I followed it right to the bitter end. Secondly, HOW THE HELL IS 7th GRADE 40 YEARS AGO?   I […]

I remember watching the part of V in Pizza Parlor when they ate the guinea pig. They showed in in the "Kid Room" for some strange reason and the after Church people complained and had them turn the channel.

Again I was curious why the released the figure as a 12 inch doll. I bought one but was disappointed in that was the only figure. A few years later a friend showed me his collection and it made me feel stupid. He used Barbie & Ken and other dolls to expand his own collection. He had a small army of Lizard guards and an army of 'masked' aliens. He used the Lynda Carter as Diana.

I remember it well, I always thought that Faye Grant (Juliet) was prettier than the evil Lizard Lady (Diana) but that’s just me, probably because she was the heroine and blonde.

Faye Grant also played Rhonda Blake on Greatest American Hero, she was the singer in the high school band.

'V' was great, it was essential viewing. I even read a few of the novels, such as "East Coast Crisis".

Kenneth Johnson's 2008 novel "V: The Second Generation" is also well worth reading, as it presents his vision for the sequel to the original mini-series, ignoring the "The Final Battle" and the weekly TV series.

I can remember all of the kids in my 7th grade class were all talking about it!

I also can't believe that was 40 years ago...

i rewatched both mini series and the TV series last year. Started re-reading the books as well, but only made it to about the 5th before i got bored with them. the books were written before they really had a grasp of the characters from the TV show since it has not aired yet.
