I'm very excited about this. I realize there will be a lot of necessary plot changes, but I'm more than OK with that. I don't think I would enjoy a comic plot forced on to a different medium.

The MCU does political intrigue very well, from Captain America: The Winter Soldier to the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. This looks great, and I like that they are bringing in all of those characters into this. I hope we see Sharon Carter, and if we learned she was a Skrull, that would explain her heel turn a bit better.

            Decent start to the series.
Sonya Falsworth must be related to James Montgomery Falsworth (The first Union Jack in the comics, but one of the Howling Commandos in the MCU.)
Interested to see how this one plays out.

^I believe she's intended to be his granddaughter. I wish they had done more with him, and had him become Union Jack.

This is a major tonal shift from the recent MCU offerings, but I expected that, and it's a good thing. Like I said above, Marvel does political intrigue really well. Some startling moments in this first episode. I'm hooked!

Talk about limping to the finish line..

Ultimately this show felt like it was just a waste of everyone's time.

At least cheeky Olivia Coleman amused me whenever she appeared

I haven't been able to watch the series past ep 2. Plan on fixing this this weekend.

                    Yeah, I pretty much agree.
                    Disappointing overall.

Yeah, despite what I said above about a good start, that wasn't good. The way the story played out, it made no sense in the MCU, with literally dozens of heroes sitting on the sidelines and not showing up. I know they couldn't afford that, but don't go there if you don't want people to expect them to appear.

It ultimately came across as a vanity project for Jackson, to make Fury look cool, at the expense of many other great characters. I kept hoping the events of the first episode would be "ta-dah"ed away, but nope. They fridged a strong female character. Between that, the decompressed storytelling, and the morose tone, it felt like everything I dislike about modern comics.

Plus, from the looks of things, it retroactively tainted some great movies with it's last episode reveals.

I usually give these MCU series and movies a pass because they entertain my family, and we enjoy them together. But this was overall a dud for me.
