And remember when your buying eggs, always check the expiration dates especially with dairy products, usually supermarkets are good but check them all, sometimes it’s better to grab what’s in the far back, the expiration dates are farther away, but if you find cheaper eggs at places like convenience or variety stores it’s good to double check expiration dates, just because there cheaper you don’t want to buy any if the expiration date is like within a day or two.

Looks like more shenanigans with the top egg producing farmers, for example Cal-Maine Foods that holds 80% of the egg industry, "reported quarterly sales up 110% and gross profits up more than 600% over the same quarter in the prior fiscal year".
Here is point from a Senator in Rhode Island:
"Many in the egg industry have pointed to last year’s avian flu outbreak as the reason behind these substantial price increases. However, as early as May 2022 the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Economic Research Service found that “the price increase” observed in the egg sector was “much larger than the decreases in production” caused by the avian flu. Indeed, while prices are up 138%, the American Egg Board recently reported that U.S. egg producer flocks are only 6% below normal levels. USDA also observed little effort among the largest egg producers to increase production to moderate record prices. It is also worth noting that small producers, which have faced many of the same market challenges as the biggest producers, have managed to keep prices under control."
Price gouging? I would say yes. Not sure why the FTC is dragging their feet on investigating.
I walked across the street from my work to a Portland based Bakery here in Seattle, "Essential Foods" and they sell eggs from local egg producers....$8 for a dozen! Grant it these are from free range organic feed based non-hormone chicken farmers so you pay more for the indie healthy eggs.
All I'm seeing is a reason for markets and farmers to make a profit at the cost of Media reporting and causing panic in the public.
Just humans being humans at the expense of other humans.Comment

It has been so long since I checked on prices so today while at the grocery store I checked; $4 a dozen for regular eggs.
I refused to even look at "organic" anything. You have no idea if what they say is true so why spend that insane amount. I supple eggs for the two of us, parents, brothers house and give extra's to the local women's shelter. Same goes for our garden.Visit my wiki site:
