Listening to Old Top 40 Playlists

Knowing a lot of you nostalgia-driven folks enjoy music from our childhoods, I thought some of you might enjoy this streaming radio show, 88 Rewound. One of two rotating hosts chooses a top-40 countdown from the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s from a station anywhere in Europe, Canada or the US to replay with commentary. It airs on Saturday mornings on M.I.T.'s college radio station, WMBR 88.1 FM, 6-8am, but I usually stream it later by clicking one of the dates here-

WMBR is the awesome little radio station broadcasting from deep within the basements of MIT in Cambridge, Mass.

Back in the 80's remember having a local NJ/NYC station (mostly on weekends) hosted by Cousin Brucie Morrow ---KING OF ALL DJ's

Might have been CBS-FM (but don't quote me on that)

    Man, good stuff !!!

Mikey one of the two DJ's grew up in the Philly area. (I think you can get some Philly stations up your way.) Despite that, I haven't heard them choose a top 40 from a Philly station yet. Last week, the DJ pulled an April, 1979 top-40 from a Tampa station. It reminded how popular disco was at that time.

I was always a rock fan, but LOVED disco too

Could never understand why people couldn't like both

Speaking of Philly, remember John Debella vs Howard Stern ?

What the heck was that all about ?

You can like both rock and disco. We all need to get along

But you definitely can't like both Debella and Stern! Kidding, of course. I think Debella's Morning Zoo format was getting a bit stale when WYSP started airing Stern's show from NYC.
