PJs were the brain child of Robert Wise who felt the colourful costumes were too silly for the big screen. So you have him to thank every time Stephen Collins is on screen.

It's great to see the footage. But I can't help but think they avoided a complete train wreck with Phase II. No Nimoy, for one thing. And Roddenberry was creatively spent by then. Both the TOS movies and TNG weren't any good until he was moved aside, as visionary as he was in the 60's.

Glad this never got off the ground and they made the movies instead.

I just wish we had a proper continuation the Roddenberry-Berman universe. The new stuff just doesn’t have the same look or feel.
