Today boyfriend & I went and watched Violent Night:

A team of elite mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage. But the team isn't prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus is on the grounds, and he's about to show why this Nick is no saint.

If you are missing out of the horror movies during Christmas season then this is the one for you. I like the different origin story of Santa Claus. It's very much like Black Widows (too much red in the ledger) so that was unique part. Yes it's basically Home Alone meets Die Hard.

And yes I plan on doing a version of him in ReMego format minus the leather Santa Suit.

i think this movie looks like a lot of fun. i won't see it in theaters but i am looking forward to watching when it hits streaming

We saw this over the weekend too, and agree with your Home Alone meets Die Hard comparison (although I would add another factor "meets The Santa Claus"). We both enjoy David Harbour's work, which is why we went to see it, and we were not disappointed. Harbour brings it, Beverly D'Angelo is fantastic in her role, Cam Gigandet always a gem, and young Leah Brady was terrific.

Not for everyone, definitely not a family film, but if you like dark comedies and are not offended by over the top violence, check it out.
