looks good too) and to note, silver surfer will be a one hour special around holiday time in November 2024 I think, before the FF movie in 2025 and Nova too will be a one hour special. I don't them doing this, as it's a test of waters for the characters.

Looks like a blast, but I'm slightly disappointed this wasn't shot on video tape, with out-of-place musical segements, old comedians, and weird animated sequences.

Yeah, I will robbed of the joy of buying this on bootleg VHS at a comic convention.

James Gunn likes a fan casting of Mark Hamill for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, turning Hamill into Santa Claus.

"but Gunn promised that major characters will be introduced to the MCU in it. Responding to another fan on Twitter, the director wrote, "More than one great new MCU characters will be introduced." Gunn has also called the holiday special "the greatest thing [he's] ever done in [his] life," which comes after his Peacemaker series set in the DC Extended Universe was a hit for HBO Max."

was that who I thought it was ? It was alright I can sense the love Gunn had for the star wars holiday special(and I think he released this on the same date.) I turned it off during the credits, was there a after credits bonus scene or anything?

My family thought it was great. So much fun. A great spotlight for Mantis, who I already liked, but who hasn't got much of a chance to shine. I can't stand her comic book counterpart. The only person who really liked her was Steve Englehart, who was obsessed with not only using her on every Marvel title he was on, but also with recreating her at every comic publisher he worked at! I love his stuff otherwise, but not Mantis!

I wasn't impressed at all. I'm tired of the goofy Marvel stuff. Such a shame because I've been a huge fan of Marvel since the 60's. My favorite fandom as a child.

At the end of the credits Rocket and Cosmo are trying to decorate Groot as a Christmas tree and then Groot dropped his arms and all the ornaments fell off him. Rocket says " now we gotta have another special"

I thought it was fine. But there wasn't much story there and the music numbers felt forced. I'll confess pretty much any movie or TV show where they start to belt out music I kinda groan.

It was cheesy without being too cheesy but it definitely rode the line.

The parts with Drax and Mantis were good, but there wasn't much of a story or an adventure after the Earth parts and most of the stuff with fat Chris Pratt in a bad wig just felt like he was forced to be there. So in that respect it had some real SW Holiday Special vibes.

But it was fine good hearted if not entirely forgetful holiday fare.

It was supposed to be parody, and it won in that category for sure. Honestly the songs weren't half bad and I enjoyed it, but goofy it sure was, but that's what Gunn was going for.

To me, it didn't feel off for the Guardians at all. The first movie ends in a dance off, and in the second film, Quill turns into Pac-Man.
