    Halloween videos 2022

It's getting about that time to watch your favorite Halloween videos.

Talking about Elvira I forgot that she showed up in 2 episodes of ChiPs. The first one would be a great idea for a Mego/ReMego party if I still had them:

Seeing Ponch in a Dracula outfit, a POTA Gorilla and other characters that would be easy to make. I guess I need to start trying to track down Megos.

ABC TV special, similarly called "The Horror Hall of Fame", was produced in 1974, hosted by Vincent Price. This show originally aired on February 20 and was a mixture of talk show, comedy skits, and clips from classic horror films.

        The Midnight Hour 1985

Here is another rare video that doesn't get talked about:The Midnight Hour
        The Midnight Hour 1985.jpg
The Midnight Hour is a 1985 American made-for-television comedy horror film directed by Jack Bender and starring Shari Belafonte-Harper, LeVar Burton, Peter DeLuise, and Dedee Pfeiffer. Its plot focuses on a small New England town that becomes overrun with zombies, witches, vampires, and all the other demons of hell after a group of teenagers unlocks a centuries-old curse on Halloween.

The film aired on ABC on Friday, November 1, 1985, at 9:00-11:00 pm EST. In addition to an original musical number, "Get Dead", the film's soundtrack features songs by Wilson Pickett, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, Three Dog Night, and The Smiths. The film marks Macaulay Culkin's first screen role as an uncredited trick-or-treater.

Neat. I don't think I've ever seen the Midnight Hour.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Jeff Goldblum)

Another video I dug out of the Youtube crypt:
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (TV 1980)
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (TV 1980).jpg
Angered that Katrina has grown fond of schoolmaster Crane, Brom Bones determines to scare off the interloper by filling his head with spooky tales of a Headless Horseman. Crane disparages the legends, until one fateful ride home in the dark of night.

I remember watching this movie. Since my Mom work at school we tuned it to watch it. Yeah I had to do a report of the difference between the show and the story but at least I could watch it.

                    Elvira's Halloween Special 1986

This Elvira footage is special to me. The special was on when I was allowed to spend the weekend with best friend soon to be boyfriend in Jr High. He recorded this because he knew I liked comic books and I did not have MTV.

That Jeff Goldblum Sleepy Hollow TV movie was a staple in our house. We all watched it when it originally aired, and whenever it reaired in syndication, every Halloween. It's a bit slow and plodding at times, but Goldblum is his usual quirky self, and it's got Meg Foster, Dick Butkiss and Mr. Woodman!

^I watched that for the first time a few years ago, after hearing a lot of people say they loved it. It lived up the hype. Charles Durning is a total scumbag in that film. If you read between the lines, he's even worse than advertised.

The Addams Family: A New Musical Comedy

Here is the version we recorded of The Addams Family - A New Musical Comedy performed by the talented Chaffey Theatre Company. This production was very well done. Congratulations to the cast and crew for an outstanding show. Hard to believe this was a High School Production.

Here's the complete premiere broadcast of a Halloween special that almost wasn't remembered, "The Halloween That Almost Wasn't," which aired on the ABC Network, and thus in Chicago over WLS Channel 7.

The premise of this one is that the Halloween monsters we all know had become too soft, and are faced with an ultimatum by Dracula (Judd Hirsch): become "frightening" again, or else he'll move out of his Transylvania castle forever. Also stars Mariette Hartley as The Witch, Henry Gibson (one of the voices on the Dr. Seuss cartoon special "Halloween Is Grinch Night" which aired before this and can be seen here: https://youtu.be/xPSDxfSdRb8 ) as Igor, Jack Riley as The Werewolf (named Warren, after Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London"), and John Schuck as The Frankenstein Monster; also featuring Robert Fitch as The Mummy, and Josip Elik as Zabaar The Zombie (neither of whom have a line of dialogue).
