We may never get that Micronauts movie

Looks like Hasbro may shift away from being a movie studio according to Bloomberg.

I can't say I'm surprised, while the Transformers movies did well, it's a lot harder to build a cinematic universe it seems. I didn't like what they did with GI Joe which seems like it would be a slam dunk and everything else seems to be in development hell. Some of these concepts like Inhumanoids and Visionaries could be fun but people would only see them if they were good movies because the brand isn't exactly popular these days.

That seems to be the new proposed plan; just license the properties.

Maybe Marvel could license Micronauts and bring them into the MCU. Admittedly, I am kind of ignorant on Micronauts, but had it in my head that the MCU has to use the term "Quantum Realm" instead of The Microverse because the rights belong to Hasbro via Micronauts.

I would totally be on board with this for sure.

Except Marvel had difficulties negotiating with Sony who had the Spider-Man rights and went out and bought Fox partially to recover X-Men and FF rights because Disney doesn't like sharing the pie with anyone else, so I highly doubt they would actively go out and license something that they would then have to split revenue with the rightholder. It's just not a Disney thing to do.

Hasbro's biggest mistake was not getting James Gunn involved. He's been wanting to do something with Micronauts since the first GotG movie. Same with ROM. It's just he had no idea Marvel didn't have the rights to either any more.
