Frank & Son Collectible Show (Pic Heavy)

Took a trip there yesterday. A must for So. Cal. toy maniacs.

    These guys were huge.

    Came back with this guy.

His Glowing prowess isn't what it used to be, but he's still a seductive ba5tard.

Dang that's a lot of stuff there! Thanks for the pictures!

Cool Remco Drac! I had a set of those boxed including the creature from the black lagoon a number of years ago. Probably should have kept them....

        Yeah fun; thanks for sharing!

Does it occupy that entire big box store?… looks like an old Circuit City or Frys or something.

Yes; it's huge. There's a Food Court and a section that's devoted to just Card Games. My Wife called it a Costco for nerds.

Very cool place, I would probably spend all day there, nothing like that out this way.
Nice Remco Dracula pick up and yeah, I had those back in the day too.

I've been thinking about going there because I live about an hour away. What are the prices like? Any bargains?

Check it out Ronny. Haggling is half the fun.

Oh, okay, so the prices are negotiable. Sounds more like a flea market vibe instead of an antique mall. I'll definitely have to check them out!

I see a Topper Johnny Seven OMA in the box. Very cool! Looks like they had a nice little bit of all kinds of goodies.

Sports/Wrestling/Movie memorabilia, Toys, Swords/Knives, Pins, Clothing and Music. Think there's at least 1 vendor that specializes in vintage Horror/Sci-Fi flicks.

Been hitting up Frank & Son's ever since it was a tiny corner section in their original trucking shop on Walnut Dr (Fall '95 was my first visit). That's where I was able to actually find the "hamburger head" Spawn figure back in the day (My first score there!). The building they're in now was a former Sam's Club location and it's AC'd, a big plus considering their second warehouse location was a sweatfest during the summertime. We used to go weekly to that location when we still lived in the area, but since we've moved, we only journey out that way two, maybe three times per year.

As for prices, it's varied. Individuals rent out sections and offer their goods at their own prices. Most of the antique & classic stuff has been sitting there awhile, priced and waiting for that "must have" customer. The more recent stuff varies wildly. Some sellers purchase wholesale & sell at or just above retail, some sellers buy retail & scalp highly sought after items. The key to finding a bargain on the current stuff is to shop the entire area, and then double back to the best price. While some vendors will haggle, some are set on their prices and get defensive/offensive if you attempt to bargain.

My last trip there (May), I picked up Neca Elvira $30 (range $30 - $50), Neca Wolfman $25 (range $25-50), Neca Mummy $25 (range $25-50), Jada Count Chocula & Franken Berry $20 each (range $20-50) and a carded Mego Invisible Man $15. My other half picked up a ToT Michael Myers 1/6 for $125.

F&S is definitely "on the map" now, and as such there can often be a long line to get inside, but certainly worth the wait.

I rarely leave empty handed and definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area.
