    sewing of costumes

    hi guys,

What's the best way that you guys sew up costumes to look factory looking? I don't have a custom mego outfit, but a captain action costume that needs sewing up.

As you can see, someone took the time to do a great job in sewing up the suit (probably someone's great mom!), but I would love to sew it along the seem, somehow, to make it look "unrepaired." Is that even possible? I'm posting here because you guys do some great stuff...Thanks for any assistance you can give.

I'm thinking one thing you could do would be to turn the suit inside out, then your stitches will be hidden. Also, stitch along the original stitch line the best you can...

Here is a nice tutorial on hand-sewing custom Mego clothing:

I'm sure there is a ton of stuff on YouTube these days too.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give it a shot and let you know how it turns out.
