    ELVIS Movie

Saw the new ELVIS PRESLEY movie today.

    Thought it was awesome.

Austin Butler and Tom Hanks nailed it!

    Very impressed.

    Any thoughts?

I haven't seen it yet-I plan on seeing it when it comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray, although a different forum I read has people saying that it really should be seen on the big screen at least once...

I thoroughly appreciated it. I think the actor does a fine job with the early act, much better in the second, and in the third act he nails it. As with all biopics, much fiction, but still manages to capture the heart of the story. Agree that it should be seen on the big screen at least once.

For those that aren't aware, there is some real Elvis footage in this film, the most being at the tail end. That, in of itself, is worth a watch.

        Highly recommend.

You don't have to be a hardcore Elvis fan to love the movie. I think you come away with a renewed respect for the music, especially the earlier work, and get a solid understanding of how triumphant and tragic his life was. And none of that comes at the price of heavy lifting.

Elvis was the first movie I saw in theaters since the Joker. My wife loved it, I thought it was a serviceable biopic not on the level of Walk the Line but a good effort. Austin Butler nailed the part.

I really love this song and how it was used in the film.

Same here. Austin did an excellent job of capturing that spirit. Going to catch another showing of it today before it completely leaves the area.

Most people here know that I produce an Elvis Festival where I hire Elvis Tribute Artists so I am very active in the Elvis and ETA world and it has been universal praise from everyone. I haven't seen or heard a negative comment about the movie yet and that is pretty amazing considering how many opinions I have read since it opened.
