5 Awesome Things on eBay this week

Entex Message from Space Model Kit (eBay Link)– I am obsessed with Message from Space, Japan’s take on Star Wars. It’s just so weird and great. I would have flipped for merchandise as a kid.   Sesame Street Cake Toppers (eBay Link)– Bert and Ernie are always welcome on my cake, even now.   Bonanza […]

I definitely would have gone for the Space Western figures back then but never saw them. That merging of genres has always appealed to me. At the time, I saw Bravestarr in stores but never saw Galaxy Rangers anywhere and only found out about them in the 1990s.

Wanted: Legends of the West (Empire & Excel) and other western historically-based figures. Send me an offer.
Also interested in figures based on literary characters.

I remember seeing Message From Space as a kid in my local one-screen theatre. Loved it.

Galaxy Rangers and Bravestarr were great shows, although I never picked up any of the figures.

I watched Bravestar and infamously bought the initial Bravestar figure on a trip to TRU in 1986, instead of a stack of clearanced MOC WGSH Spider-Man figures! But yeah, it never quite caught on. I barely recall Galaxy Rangers. It was on at like 6 am on Saturday mornings in our area. Maybe knock-off companies THOUGHT they might have a hit, and made a preemptive strike?

I'm surprised that Bonanza puzzle made it out before Adam left the show. The action figures didn't!

The Space Western Heroes are pretty neat.

I really dig the designs of the ships; especially the Liabe and the PreaStar. I collect the Diecast Popy versions.
