Captain Marvel Jr in new Elvis movie

In the beginning of the movie young Elvis is seen reading a Captain Marvel Jr. comic book and dreaming he was CM3 so he could break his father out of jail.

The movie was rather good but does end on a sad note. I did not now that Elvis wore guyliner (eyeliner) when he started up.

His jumpsuits he wore in concert were modeled on Captain Marvel Jr.

There was a multipart write up on Dial B for Blog years ago about the connection Elvis had to Captain Marvel, Jr and detailed all of the little ways the character influenced Elvis' style. That Blog is long-gone and I wish I could find an archived source because it'd be nice to revisit with the movie making those connections to Captain Marvel, Jr.
