Mego Dukes of Hazzard Cooter's Garage playset from the 1982 Catalog.

Even though DoH was something of a goldmine for the World's Greatest Toy Company, even they couldn't sell a playset for the line.

Kids liked the figures and the vehicles, but this (clearly hand-drawn) playset did not wow buyers at Toy Fair that year, and it did not go into production.

Buck Rogers Space Port Playset by @megocorp in 1980. Despite being constructed of thin styrene, the Space Port playset was actually accurate to the series. The original itself it being somewhat minimalist and comprised mainly of black-out curtains.

The Buck Rogers mock-up looks great. Cooter's Garage is well drawn but it's obviously a repurposed house/doll playset and I can see why buyers passed.

I never understood the mix and match styles with the Dukes between 5 POA and the more Joe style articulation. Even though the line did good, doing stuff like that always seemed cheap to me.

I guess it never struck me before, but Daisy is the only one whose eyes got painted in the line. In fact, did any other Mego 3.75 inch figure get painted eyes? I can't think of any off hand.

Happy New Year from the Mego Micronauts! Mego had a tremendous 1977 with this toy line and that good fortune continued the following year.

Beautiful Neal Adams illustrated ad for the Mego Comic Action Heroes Collapsing Tower and Invisible Airplane set.

All Comic Action Heroes sets had Adams-designed packaging and it's undeniable that it's one of the best-selling features and certainly what caught my eye as a kid.
