Similar sort of. Does anyone remember the Stone Trek cartoons from early 2000s?

Wow neat, captured that style of animation very well, even approximated "cell dirt" in many of the frames.

Did you know that after STTNG ended there were works going on about a cartoon series? Ift didn't make it but during the Creation/Star Trek conventions they were selling the original cells and donating the money to charity. I was lucky enough to get one of the cells, its packed away so I may have to dig it out.

This perfectly nailed everything about Filmation Trek. The character designs, the random replacement of humanoid crew members with aliens, the simplified villains, the overuse of stock shots over and over, and the super tight close ups to make it seem like they weren't using the same stock shots over and over. Brilliant!

The Trek Culture folks interviewed the creator. He's flummoxed by the response!

It's really well done. Completely melds TNG with TOS animated. Bravo!

That certainly stroked a nostalgia itch.

Thanks for posting that interview. I really enjoying hearing the creative thinking behind making the animation.

The only thing that bothers me is the admission by the creator that he really did it as a joke, because he found the original Filmation series "funny" and "stupid"
Pretty ironic that in an attempt to mock the original series he actually created something great.
